To keep you updated on the summer:
Before we get to the Covid update, we want to let you know that we have decided to cancel this season’s annual Share Holder’s weekend. Surely by next season things will be back to some type of normal.
We didn’t think we’d be this busy this season. Things are moving along fine, lots of guests, and everyone is cooperating with our Covid protocols.
As of today, 31 July, masks are mandatory in our lodge. Most of our current guests have their own, and the statement from the province says that people are expected to do so. Below is a shortened version of that statements with info that affects us:
Premier Stephen McNeil and Dr. Robert Strang, chief medical officer of health for Nova Scotia, announced that masks will become mandatory in most indoor public places starting July 31.
Indoor public places include:
— restaurants and bars, except while people are eating or drinking
— common areas of tourist accommodations such as lobbies, elevators and hallways
Children under two are exempt, as well as children aged two to four when their caregiver cannot get them to wear a mask. People with a valid medical reason for not wearing a mask are exempt.
People are asked to use their own masks.
“People should also be aware that businesses have the right, themselves, to refuse entry or to refuse service to people who are not wearing a mask when they’re required to but always with the allowances for the small number of people with valid reasons for not wearing a mask,” said Strang.–
We have posted signs on all our doors. We have a limited amount of disposable masks at front desk for those that don’t have them. If a guest refuses to wear a mask, they will be offered the take out menu.
We have also added an insert to our menus asking parents to keep children seated at their tables.
We are hoping that our guests will cooperate.
Come Dine with Us
One of the finer aspects of staying at Milford House is an incredible dining experience. The Dining Room is open from Victoria Day weekend in May, to Thanksgiving. For July and August: Meals are by RESERVATION ONLY, reserve at least 24 hours in advance.
We have two options:
For a very reasonable price we will include a 3 course dinner plus a full breakfast the next morning, or just pay from our priced a la carte menu for the meals you would like to have. We are well known for our wholesome home-cooked meals, utilizing locally selected produce, some of which is freshly picked from our very own gardens.
Milford House has created an interactive booking map! You can choose the perfect cabin for your stay, in the location you want. You can book your stay within the map itself by quick link to the booking service. We have also created an additional map showing a selection of the beautiful walking and canoeing trails available to you.
Go to the map where you can hover over each button to see the name of each cabin, if you click on any of them it will bring up some information and some pictures of each cabin.
