A Great Day on the Milford House Lakes

Gang Run: A fun short trip for the whole family is up the Gang Run. This is a beautiful still water with herons, ducks, beaver, deer, turtles. It is especially busy with wildlife early in the morning, while everyone else is still sleeping. Continue to a small pool just below a logging road bridge. From the bridge walk along a path on the right past some rapids to Gang Lake. Return trip is about 1 hour.
Other Lakes and still waters: Other waterways are easily accessible by canoe. Some trips involve portaging, but canoes have been placed on the far end of portages to allow easier access to more distant waterways. Canoes on the outer lakes are locked. Pick up the key at the front desk before heading out for the day.
Trips for the more experienced: Begin or end your wilderness adventure at Milford House. Exciting single or multiple day trips abound. Take a wilderness day trip exploring the Boot, Fisher, Eleven Mile, Allison, First Branch and Elder lakes. Canoes fully equipped are available for reasonable rates.
