The Legendary Milford House offers 28 Lakeside Cabins for Rent in Nova Scotia. Nestled along the wooded shores of Geier and Boot Lakes.
Many of the quintessentially Canadian rustic lakeside cabins are close to the lodge. For guests who might prefer a bit of seclusion, other cabins are well separated around one kilometer of lake shores.
All cabins have a living room with a fireplace, two to five bedrooms and a bathroom with tub or shower, or both. Relax on your porch or enjoy the view from your very own lakeside dock.
Each cabin has its own distinctive name and character. Some were built in the 1920s or thirties by the owner Del Thomas, for use by his family plus the ever increasing summer visitors. Others were built by long-term “summer residents,” guests who stayed for two to three months with their families and friends. All of these cabins have a fascinating history, some of which is highlighted in the book Through The Woods, found at the main lodge.
The lodge and dining room are fully wheelchair accessible, as well some of our cabins have wheelchair ramps, but don’t have have a full range of handicapped equipment.
While maintaining their original charm and character you will find pine cones, dip nets, rustic stools or birch twig coat hooks — treasures collected or made on summer holidays, have been kept as mementos of guests from days gone by.
Shelves contain the typical summer cabin collection of books, a deck of cards and a few board games or puzzles.
After a fun day swimming, canoeing or hiking return to your cabin for a relaxing evening on your porch, or a crackling fire and perhaps conversation with new friends.
